Pre-Kindergarten:

We are so excited to introduce the "New" Pre-Kindergarten Program!

The purpose of the pre-kindergarten program is to provide developmentally appropriate experiences for four year old students in order that they may enter kindergarten with the readiness skills they need to succeed.  Currently, Fayette Academy has one pre-kindergarten class.  This class operates on the same schedule as the rest of the school.  A certified teacher and an education assistant staff the classroom. 

The pre-kindergarten class will use the "Let's Begin with the Letter People"  curriculum for the 2007 - 2008 school year.  The program introduces young children to new books, songs, poems, and games.  The curriculum provides ideas for creating interest centers that are child-centered and promote language, phonemic awareness, letter recognition, print awareness, and beginning reading skills.  The curriculum was designed especially for pre-kindergarten programs.  It aligns with the Tennessee Early Childhood Education Standards.
