Decisions = Anxiety and Worrying
(Why decisions do not have to equal this.)

If you have ever made this statement: “ I place my faith and trust in God.”  Then the first question you must ask yourself is what does this statement mean?
Faithà What do I believe about God?
Trust-à What do I trust God with?

I.) Faith     “What do I believe about God?”

a.       Do I believe God is Omniscience (All-Knowing)?

b.       Do I believe God is Omnipotence (All-Powerful)?

Psalms 147:5 Great is our Lord and mighty in power; his understanding has no limit.

c.        Do you believe that Jesus Christ holds all things together?

Colossians 1:17 He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.

II.) Trust   “Do your believe that God knows what He is doing and He desires the best for you?”

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.

James 1:17 Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.

Matthew 7:11 If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!

God knows the future, He knows the details of your future, and He knows what His will is for you.  Since, God knows all this, who do you think you should consult about making a decision?

III.) Why anxiety and worrying do not fit into the equation:

Matthew 6:25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? 26Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life? 28“And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Philippians 4:6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

What does it mean to say that you are a Christian? A believer?   Your faith and trust are in Jesus Christ.  You believe that He is the only Son of God, that gave His life for you on an old rugged cross because of your sin that you may have eternal life.

What does this mean about the future of you soul?  (That you have trusted Jesus

with your soul) If with your soul why not your decisions?   Be encouraged God knows what is best and knows all things!  Have faith! Hebrews 11:1  Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.

Psalms 139:

  1. O LORD, you have searched me and you know me.
  2. You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar.
  3. You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways.
  4. Before a word is on my tongue you know it completely, O LORD.
  5. You hem me in—behind and before;  you have laid your hand upon me.
  6. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain.
  7. Where can I go from your Spirit?  Where can I flee from your presence?
  8. If I go up to the heavens, you are there;if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.
  9. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea,
  10. even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast.
  11. If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me,”
  12. even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day,  for darkness is as light to you.
  13. For you created my inmost being;  you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
  14. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;  your works are wonderful,  I know that full well.
  15. My frame was not hidden from you  when I was made in the secret place.  When I was woven together in the depths of the earth,
  16. your eyes saw my unformed body.  All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to
